The short version

BoringTools' calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into a tool are never sent to our servers — there is nothing to send them to, since the calculators don't have a backend. We don't require an account and we don't sell data to anyone.

Google Analytics

With your consent (via the banner shown on your first visit), we use Google Analytics to understand which tools are used and how the site can be improved. This may set cookies and collect information such as your approximate location, device type, browser, and the pages you visit. This data is processed by Google Ireland Limited and, depending on Google's infrastructure, potentially by Google LLC in the United States.

You can decline analytics in the banner, or change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not run ads on BoringTools.io.

Cookies and local storage

We use local storage (not tracking cookies) to remember two preferences: your dark/light mode choice and your analytics consent decision. Analytics, if accepted, may additionally set its own cookies as described above.

Embedded widgets

If you embed a BoringTools calculator on your own site via the iframe snippet we provide, the same rules apply: calculations happen in the visitor's browser, and analytics only loads with consent.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/EEA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to its processing. Since we collect so little data in the first place, most requests will simply mean asking Google to remove your Analytics data — contact us and we'll point you in the right direction.
